[ 01 / SHORT ANSWER ]

Thirty-second decision guide

Choose Residential when

The response depends on geography, or the target scores IP reputation. Country and optional state and city targeting, rotating or sticky, $0.49/GB to start.

Residential proxies

Choose Residential TLS when

A clean residential IP still gets challenged. The handshake — ClientHello, cipher order, HTTP/2 SETTINGS — is matched to one of 127 captured browser builds. $0.74/GB to start.

Residential TLS proxies

Choose Residential Premium when

The exit address itself is what gets scored. A separate premium pool with its own gateway ports, and ASN targeting on top of country. $1.69/GB to start.

Residential Premium proxies

Choose Residential Premium TLS when

The target checks the exit and the handshake. The separate premium pool, carrying a pinned browser profile from 127 captured builds. $2.54/GB to start.

Recommended product by workload

WORKLOAD → RECOMMENDED PRODUCT
WORKLOADRECOMMENDEDWHY
Large-scale public web scrapingResidential TLSHandshake consistency is usually the difference between a 200 and a challenge page.
SERP and rank checkingResidentialCountry, state and city targeting matter more than the handshake; volume per page is small.
Ad verificationResidentialCreatives are selected by geography and IP class; sticky sessions keep a placement observable.
Price and availability monitoringResidentialRegional pricing needs credible local exits; per-GB billing suits small JSON responses.
Market and catalogue researchResidentialReproducible geography beats raw throughput for research work.
AI retrieval and enrichment pipelinesResidential TLSLong-running jobs fail expensively; handshake control reduces retry churn.
Internal load and latency testingResidentialThe lowest per-GB rate on the standard pool, which is what high-volume internal runs are priced on.

[ 04 / LIMITATIONS ]

Where each product is the wrong tool

Residential. Per-GB billing punishes heavy pages and media. There is no published concurrency ceiling, so plan large parallel runs with support rather than assuming one.
Residential TLS. Pinning a browser profile does not make a request look human. Request timing, navigation order and client behaviour still matter, and a target may challenge for reasons unrelated to TLS.
Residential Premium / Premium TLS. The premium pool costs several times the standard rate. If ordinary residential already answers on your targets, the premium spend buys nothing.
All products. Access to any specific target is never guaranteed, and the acceptable use policy applies to every plan. Read the acceptable use policy before you start.

[ FAQ ]

Comparison FAQ

01Is Residential TLS always better than Residential?

No. It costs more per gigabyte and only helps when the target inspects the TLS handshake. If standard residential already succeeds on your targets, the extra spend buys nothing.

02When is Residential Premium the wrong choice?

When the standard pool already answers. Premium costs several times the standard per-GB rate, and it only pays for itself on targets that score IP reputation hard enough to refuse ordinary residential exits.

03Can I switch products without changing my code?

Yes. The gateway host, authentication and the password-parameter syntax are identical across all four products; you change the product on your balance, not your code.

04What happens if I send -profile- on a standard residential plan?

It is ignored silently. Only Residential TLS plans act on the profile parameter.

05Which product is cheapest for a large crawl?

Standard Residential at the largest package — $0.49 / GB at 1 TB. On a strict target the Premium pool often costs less overall, because you spend less on retries.

Still deciding?

Buy one gigabyte of residential, run it against your own targets, and let the response codes pick the product.
